3 announces new PDA style Handsets – QTEK 9000

Within the same announcement about the nokia E61 comes also the announcement of the QTEK 9000 which should be gracing the shelves of mobile phone stores in the next few weeks.  To my knowledge this hasn’t been released yet on the 3 network.

qtek-9000.jpgThe styling of this one is somewhat different though with a rotating screen which hides away the full QWERTY keyboard when not needed allowing for it to be used for touch screen.  As I haven’t actually seen one in the metal/plastic yet, it is a bit difficult to comment on the size of it but as a design it appeals to me.

This one does have a camera though and so the full array of video calling & messaging should be available on it. However, I believe the strength of this phone will be in it’s use of Windows Pocket PC and the integration of that to Windows on one’s desktop.
